Healing Mud from the Sea
The Dead Sea is the saltiest lake in the world. It is called "dead" because the high salinity prevents any fish or other visible aquatic organism to live in its water. The high density of the water also causes a curious phenomenon: it is impossible for a bather to sink. Its surface is the lowest point on Earth, at an elevation of 417 below sea level. A great place to observe the extend of the Dead Sea is the natural fortress of Masada, reached from the Dead Sea side by a steep trail of 450m elevation. After being the palace of Herod the Great, it was for 967 Jewish Zealots the last stronghold in their revolt against Rome, as it took 15,000 Roman men to build a ramp from the Western side of the plateau to eventually breach their defenses. The siege of Masada has become in Israel a popular story of heroic resolve, with some accounts reporting that the defenders committed mass suicide instead of surrending. Masada is a UNESCO Word Heritage Site. The Dead Sea has had an important role in biblical history. When King David fled from Saul he took refuge in Ein Gedi near its shores. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are thought to have existed on it's southeast corner. Among the many palaces that King Herod built there, was the Masada famous as the stronghold where a handful of Jewish faithful held out against a whole legion of Roman soldiers before committing suicide rather than be captured alive.

Dead Sea Scrolls
Dead Sea Scrolls ancient leather and papyrus scrolls first discovered in 1947 in caves on the NW shore of the Dead Sea. Most of the documents were written or copied between the 1st cent. BC and the first half of the 1st cent. AD Scrolls of the Qumran Caves Three types of documents have been found in the caves near Qumran: copies of books of the Hebrew Bible, e.g., Isaiah, of which two almost complete scrolls have been found; copies of books now collected in the Old Testament Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, e.g., Tobit, 1 Enoch, and Jubilees; and documents composed by an ascetic community, e.g., a book of community rules called The Manual of Discipline, an allegorical account of the community called The War of the Sons of Light with the Sons of Darkness, a group of devotional poems called The Thanksgiving Psalms, a commentary on the Book of Habakkuk, Dead Sea Scrolls ancient leather and papyrus scrolls first discovered in 1947 in caves on the NW shore of the Dead Sea. Doron, has been working the last 10 years as a psychodramatist and psychotherapist in his own clinic. He specializes in working with emotionally disturbed children, and with their parents. He is also a teacher in two of the leading academic programs in Israel for training students as psychodramatists. He has been also involved for four years in directing the program (in Seminar hakibuzim together with his colleague).He also was part of the management team of The Israeli Association of Psychodrama.
Doron leads psychodrama groups for addicted prisoners living in a hostel and also leads psychodrama group for children in a daycare center, suffering from conduct disorder.
During the last years Doron has been looking for answers to questions considering the meaning of his journey here on earth, and the connection between the individual and the community in the deep sense. As a result doron is volunteering the last two years for therapeutic work with children traumatized by war actions. That is how Doron found Connie who through her workshops, he feels he can find a way to explore those questions.
Doron has his B.A. in psychology, and he also was trained in acting school. He has his M.A. in Expressive Art Therapy from Lesley University. He can be reached at doronlev10@gmail.com
